Sarah Smit, founder of European Horse Trade, was born in Holland and started riding at the age of 5 and has been riding ever since. She moved from Holland to the US a few years ago, bringing with her an in-depth knowledge of the European horse market. She also arrived with a large network of Dutch trainers and barns.
Sarah oversees the horse selection process and coordinates the travel arrangements. She also handles the finances and schedules shipping the horse to the new owner. Currently, her riding consists primarily of training young horses. Sarah lived in Weston, MA for five years, and she now lives with her husband and children in Dubai, UAE.
With Sarah Smit running the new office in Dubai, Sarah Bernheim represents European Horse Trade in the USA. Sarah Bernheim is a Bowdoin College graduate and avid rider. She grew up riding in Vermont with a dressage instructor, and went on to study abroad in Germany in order to further her equestrian knowledge. Sarah B. owns two horses, a Thoroughbred mare and a Trakehner filly.
